GAY DAY FOR SUPERMODEL COSMETICS
London, UK Eng Comm Duration: 1.00″
American tranvestite sensation, Rupaul, has joined the elite group of supermodels. He has been chosen as the new face of the Canadian cosmetics company, MAC. Ten-year-old MAC (it stands for Make-Up Art Cosmetic) say they chose Rupaul because his flamboyance and style perfectly reflect their “alternative” image. The tranvestite’s high cheekbones, dusky complexion and model figure place him comfortably alongside Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell. Rupaul said he was chosen because he represented “anyone with a heartbeat.” As a well-known figure on the international gay scene, and because of his commitment to improving AIDS awareness, he was a natural choice for the “Viva Glam Girl,” whose lipstick sales have raised two-and-a-half million dollars towards AIDS research. Rupaul hit the headlines with the release of the single “Supermodel” which reached number 1 in the US charts. He also joined Elton John to sing the duet “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”.
